DISHA is a registered society under Indian Society Act XXI of 1860, Regd. No GJM No. 6272-33 of 2001 -2002. It aims at Social Upliftment of under privileged groups in the society, through its development activities in collaboration with Government bodies, Civil Societies, Educational institutions, Philanthropies and Abled Citizens. It strives towards capacity building and skills development of agencies, institutions and individuals. It promotes art, culture, music, sports and traditions of Indian societies in lieu with conventional education in schools and institutions.
DISHA primarily works under the broad framework of its SEDLE Programme - the 5 Initiatives that contributes positive and measurable impacts in the society.
Carry out initiatives to address societal challenges in an innovative and effective way. It associates with Govt. Bodies, Corporates and Philanthropists and contributes in strengthening social capital and knowledge.
Expert mentoring on new pedagogical ideas, make use of teaching aids to facilitate and accelerate students' learning, enhance student literacy, create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Initiatives directed towards poverty alleviation, inequality reduction and building resilience in the society.
Initiatives that provides opportunity to individuals and groups to enhance their capacity for a decent earning. It further contribute to direct or indirect growth of human capital, social capital, physical capital, natural capital, and financial capital of the society.
